Rex Sideboard
Inspired by the Scandinavian aesthetic of bold simplicity, the Rex Sideboard is a celebration of wood character and clean, balanced lines. The sideboard's left compartment includes two doors opening to adjustable shelves and the right side features a large and a small drawer. Open the drop-down door on the upper right and find a mirrored compartment perfect for wine and spirit or glassware storage.

John has been exploring creativity and use of space since he was young, studying everything from the violin to photography and eventually dance, for which he received his undergraduate degree at the conservatory at New York University's Tisch School (BFA, summa cum laude). He went on to work extensively as a contemporary dancer and choreographer and continues his dance practice today. John performed with choreographers and directors such as Robert Wilson, Lucinda Childs, and Twyla Tharp before beginning his self-taught design practice.
John began designing physical objects while honed his woodworking skills with the brilliant craftspeople at Makeville Studios. He created Coil + Drift in 2016 in an effort bring together all his creative practices, focusing on creating tangible objects. As a designer and entrepreneur, John is entirely self-taught. In 2017 John made a documentary short with Mercedes-Benz for NBC Out about how his creative practice.
