FN Furniture
Informed by decades of art-making, woodwork and yoga, Ken Landauer began FN Furniture as a social and ecological art project. His mission was, and remains: refined design, accessible to many, made with near zero waste. He draws, shapes, builds and tests over and over, rigorously refining his designs, until every piece of furniture is remarkably comfortable, elegant and sturdy. He fits the parts together like puzzle pieces to use at least 95% of each sheet of plywood, producing almost zero waste. FN makes everything in the Hudson Valley with ecological materials, new technology, and old, sharp chisels.
In September of 2017, Ken delivered 35 pieces be used at the Museum of Arts and Design on Columbus Circle in NYC, and officially opened FN Furniture. The Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs, NY and the Dorsky Museum in New Paltz, NY are also using FN benches, tables, lounge chairs, and shelves.
