Souvenir Table Lamp
A smaller version of the Souvenir Floor Lamp. Made with traditional East Asian techniques of binding reed and paper over a form. The Souvenir Lamps explore the concept of spiritual gateways and how they symbolically mark a transition from the mundane to the sacred. Simple, pared down lines in the architecture help to elevate the paper illumination and create a central visual beacon.

Made with American walnut or American Cherry and Japanese kozo paper. Each piece is dimmable to three brightness settings by a brass touch switch.
Kawabi
Kawabi is the New York-based studio practice of Aaron and Irisa Na-Chan Kawabi. Inspired by their spiritual and aesthetic connection to the East, the studio explores the concept of inheritance and cultural heirlooms through the process of craft. Intentionally handmade and slow, each work incorporates traditional joinery and paper-making techniques while transforming the familiar into new archetypes in form.
